A new report gives the iPhone 17e a release time-frame and suggests the smartphone is nearing its trial production stage.
The iPhone 17e is Set to Go into Trial Production Soon and will Launch in Late May 2026
Apple’s iPhone 16e is an interesting smartphone that sits at the bottom of the flagship lineup. Though it looks like a one-off product, but a new leak suggests Apple is planning to do an ‘e’ phone on a regular basis.
According to a report by Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, who keeps a close ear to Apple’s supply chain, the iPhone 17e will go into trial production soon. Not only that, the budget phone is set to launch in May of 2026 as well.
What really fascinates me is how Apple plans to give the iPhone ‘e’ a refresh every single year. Because, an iPhone 16e buyer just wants to buy a phone and forget about it for a long time.
With this move, it’s clear that Apple wants to go after the mid-range market once again. But priced at $599, it’s hard to compete with a segment that’s flooded with smartphones that are extremely competitively priced.
