Google CEO Sundar Pichai hinted at a possibility that Gemini AI support is coming to Apple Intelligence later this year.

Google Gemini AI Integration May Come to Apple Intelligence Later this Year with iOS 19, Hints Google CEO

According to Bloomberg, CEO Sundar Pichai dropped the hint at the DoJ’s trail against Google. He even revealed that he had talks with Apple CEO Tim Cook last year about bringing Gemini to Apple devices.

The interesting thing is, Apple Intelligence relies on ChatGPT for certain things, and Gemini integration means users will get more choice in terms of AI.

I’m sure this integration won’t be a part of iOS 18, iPadOS 18 or macOS Sequoia. It’s safe to assume that it will be coming to Apple devices with iOS 19, iPadOS 19 and macOS 16, all set for announcement this June at WWDC 2025.

This news of Gemini integration reminds me of the time when Apple worked closely with Facebook and Twitter for iOS 6. You would sign into your social accounts on a system level and share content without launching the Facebook or Twitter app itself.

Such things make an operating system really exciting, because you get to use your favorite third-party services as if they’re part of the device you’re using. Hopefully, Gemini integration will reignite that feeling when using AI.
