Here’s how you can make the mouse pointer bigger or smaller on the Mac in just a few simple clicks.

macOS Lets You Customize the Mouse Pointer Size, Allowing You to Make it Bigger or Smaller

We all know just one size of the mouse pointer on our Mac – the default one. We’ve known it since day one and never think about changing it, almost ever.

But there might come a situation where you might want to make the mouse pointer slightly bigger. That situation arises when the screen resolution is too high, making the mouse pointer tiny to work with.

Don’t worry, you can make the pointer bigger, allowing you to see it on the display far more easily than before. And here’s what you have to do on your Mac:

Step 1. Launch System Settings on your Mac.

Step 2. Find Accessibility on the left and click on it to view more options.

Step 3. Under the Vision section on the right, click on Display.

Step 4. Find the Pointer section.

Step 5. You’ll see the massive ‘Pointer size’ slider under the Pointer section. Move it from Normal to Large to increase the size of the pointer.

Since you can make very fine adjustments, you can adjust the size of the mouse pointer to exactly the size you want it to be.

Given I mostly use a MacBook Air, the default pointer size is absolutely perfect. And I’m glad the ability exists to customize such a thing, especially for those who own something like an iMac or those who are using a very high-resolution display like the Pro Display XDR.
